Some like it Raw: Bachelorette Parties for the Organically Inclined

Bride's Night Out, Inc. headquarters, also known as BNO Party Central, is located in the fabulously sunny and health conscious city of Hollywood, California. We’re surrounded by friends, staff and party clients who have chosen a lifestyle promoting and consuming un-cooked, un-processed, and organic foods. We hear from others, as far away as Canada, who also enjoy this type of diet and believe it helps with loosing weight and keeping them free from ailments. There are more and more raw lovers sprouting up all over, and the growing trend is evident in all parts of their life, even their celebrations.

If you’re a bride-to-be and consider yourself a raw foodist, I’ve put together a few bachelorette party tips to help you plan that fresh and natural event you crave.

Q. I’m a bride-to-be and a raw foodist. Should I even bring up my diet at my bachelorette party?

A. Absolutely you should incorporate your lifestyle in your party. As they say, “You are what you eat”, and your bachelorette party is all about you.

Q. What should we do for our bachelorette party to incorporate my raw food lifestyle?

A. Your choice of activities and entertainment can be whatever you would like: BNO VIP on the town event, indoor massage party, or hat making parties. The most important elements in addressing the “Fresh & Natural” theme is in the details: invitations, food and beverage, and other organic elements such as apparel. My suggestion is to start at one location, usually a friend’s house, and serve a selection of raw appetizers and blended organic beverages. Give everyone an organic t-shirt and hit the town with a BNO Party Guide.

Q. What kind of food and beverages should we serve at the party?

A. The first thing you should consider is your guests. Not everyone enjoys an entirely raw diet, so you may want to have at least one cooked or warm dish in addition to your others. As for the menu, you can choose the items that suit your taste: capriccio, sashimi, fruits, vegetables, and non-pasteurized dairy products (raw cheese and raw yogurt).

Here are some ideas:

Basil, Raw Cheese and Tomato platter

Avocado, lime, onion and cilantro dip (raw chips are also available in stores)

Red Cabbage and apple salad

Coconut and raw yogurt smoothies

Or you can turn America's favorite party food, pizza, into a delicious raw pizza salad

For more information on raw party menus, look for books relating to the topic. I happen to be friends with one of the pioneers in the industry, Magie Matulic, who created Rawcovery.com. The site includes useful information and an e-book for sale which Magie wrote. The book both educates and empowers the reader about health and well-being. It will profoundly change the way you view both health and food.

Here, at Bride's Night Out, Inc. we educate ourselves on the trends and then think of ways we can assist our brides' lifestyles.
